Jazz Band

The Jazz Ensemble is an integral part of the overall band program. A serious effort is made to promote the growth and performance of jazz and related styles of music. Jazz requires certain numbers in its instrumentation; As such, the tuscarora music program has two jazz ensembles, the “A” band for experienced players and the “B” band for jazz beginners. Membership for the ensemble is determined by auditions held in the spring of the year prior, as well as participation in either Marching Band or Concert Band classes. One of the highlights for the ensemble is participation in several jazz festivals. The group will rehearse after school in the spring semester.
